Deborah J. Pisciotti, a dedicated educator from Waterbury, Connecticut, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the age of 57. Her untimely death has left a deep void in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many students she mentored throughout her career.
Born on January 16, 1968, in Waterbury, Debbie was a passionate educator who devoted her life to teaching. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in History from Trinity College of Vermont and later earned her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Bridgeport. For years, Debbie taught at St. Francis School in Naugatuck and the Catholic Academy of Waterbury, where she was honored with The Shining Knight Award in 2024 for her outstanding contributions to education.
Debbie's legacy is built on the countless lives she touched through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to her students and community. She was known for her ability to connect with her students and inspire them to reach their fullest potential.
Since the news of her passing, tributes have poured in from friends, colleagues, and former students. “Debbie was a teacher who truly cared about her students, and her kindness and dedication will never be forgotten,” wrote one former student.
Debbie’s family will hold her funeral on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home in Waterbury, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her dedication to education will continue to inspire future generations.
