Andrew Hyslop, Devoted Father and Longtime Deputy, Passes Away After Courageous Battle with Cancer in Anderson County, SC

Andrew "Andy" Hyslop, a dedicated father, grandfather, and esteemed member of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, passed away this past Saturday following a brave fight against stage 4 colon and liver cancer.

Andy was known for his unwavering commitment to his community, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. His legacy of honor, service, and compassion will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

His family and colleagues are mourning the loss of a man who spent his life serving others selflessly. As a pillar of strength in both his career and personal life, Andy’s impact was far-reaching and profound. He leaves behind nine children, including two who are just 17 and 18 years old, as well as three grandchildren.

A GoFundMe campaign has been started to assist the Hyslop family with funeral and burial expenses, as well as to support Andy’s youngest children during this difficult time. The family is facing unforeseen challenges, and the community is rallying to provide stability and comfort during this heartbreaking period.
