Judy Loon, Beloved Community Member from Iroquois Falls, ON, Passes Away at 61
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judy Loon, a cherished member of the Iroquois Falls community, who passed away on December 1, 2025, at the age of 61.
Judy had been an integral part of the Community Living Iroquois Falls since 1998. She first joined the organization at the Radio Street Residence, where her warmth and kind spirit quickly made her beloved by everyone. After the residence closed in 2003, Judy transitioned to an independent living program, continuing to thrive and build lasting connections with those around her.
In 2025, as her health needs changed, Judy moved to Spruce Street Residence where she was provided with 24-hour care and support. Even in this new chapter, she continued to bring joy and wisdom to all those she met. Judy was also an active participant in Ontario Special Olympics Bowling, where her teammates and colleagues became a close-knit second family.
Judy’s closest bond was with her best friend Anne, with whom she shared countless special memories. From holiday dinners to quiet afternoons spent coloring, their friendship was a source of immense joy for Judy.
Judy is survived by her siblings Anita, Alex, Jeff, and Darlene, as well as her dear friend Anne and her extended Community Living family. She was predeceased by her mother, Alexandra (Sandra) Carr, and her sister, Ann Valiquette.
Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her infectious laughter, and the lasting impression she left on the community.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 77.
